Employers - Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS)

What is the Employer Nomination Scheme Visa?

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa enables businesses
to nominate highly skilled workers from overseas or temporary residents
currently in Australia, to fill full-time, permanent vacancies anywhere in
the country. There are a number of guidelines and requirements when
applying for an ENS Visa – these include that the role hasn’t been able
to be filled locally, the particular length of the contract, the skills set
required and the salary levels on offer.

Is your business eligible?

  • To recruit and employ skilled people under the ENS Visa you must meet the following requirements:

  • That you actively and lawfully operate a business in Australia

  • Have a genuine need for a paid employee to fill a position within your business

  • Abide by all relevant Australian laws and have a satisfactory record of meeting Australian immigration laws

  • Have a current training strategy for existing Australian employees (or a future training plan for employees if a newly established business) and can provide the employee with an offer of permanent employment.

What is the process for applying?

The ENS application process features the following steps:

  • Step 1 – The Employer nominates the position to be filled

  • Step 2 – The Employee applies for a visa to work in Australia
